Our company received a phone call to verify our yellow page listing with an unknown company. We stated that we did not want any listing with this company.
They said that they just needed to update our information. We again said that we did not want to update anything because we did not know who this company was.
A week later I received a bill in the mail addressed to the employee who took the call with the "yellow page" company, ie Better Benefits Organization, Inc. Stating that we had a subscription for their services. The bill was going to be showing up on our phone bill.
We immediately called to cancel the non-authorized subscription. The customer service rep on the phone said that our subscription had been canceled and that we would be taken off their calling list.
When I told her that this was fraud she snappily responded by stating that it was legitimate.
There is nothing legitimate about receiving a bill for a subscription to a service that you NEVER ordered.
If someone calls to ask about updating your listing HANG UP!!! These are CON ARTISTS!
