After ordering a microscope set as a gift for a child on 11/23/09, I still had not received the set within ten working days. I sent an email to the customer service email address requesting a tracking number to which I received a reply three days later.

The reply said my ordered had "shipped usps they are moving a little slow due to the holidays". I replied that I wanted the tracking number and the date it was shipped, to which came the reply "we will trace and reship".

I finally received the order on 12/16/09. It came in an Amazon.com box with an Amazon packing slip that said my order of 12/10/09 was sent as a gift from Pam Neal.

It was not the set that the child wanted, so I started my email rally to find out how to return the package for credit, which was perplexing because I had no packing slip from the company that charged my credit card for this purchase. I started the emails on January 4th.

After sending three emails, I got the following response "Due to the nature of the item per our terms software is by exchange only Thank you and have a Great day", to which I replied "this is not software".

Finally, after calling the number listed on the website three times, which rang and rang, then turned into a fast busy signal, and after firing off four more emails and speaking with Amazon, on January 12th, I finally received a reply stating to send the unopened package back for credit (less shipping and a 20% restocking fee) to the following address (this is exactly how it appears on my email): r5 box 338aa Bluefield wv 24701.

I have verified with UPS that this is not a valid address and I am awaiting a call back from a very nice gentleman at the local post office in Bluefield, WV. He is researching the address to let me know how to actually get the package back to them. One of their email replies actually listed their names so I hope to be able to send this back soon. Now, as far as getting my money back. Who knows?

After all my years of internet purchasing, I have never had to go through anything like this before.
