Only time I've ever been ripped off online

Internet & Web

I ordered amother board for my aging Dell D810. I use my laptop to interphase with onboardsystems of different ships so I can use navigation and plotter systemsthat I'm familiar with for increased safety reasons. A new computer isbasically out of the question since most ship with Vista (no hyperterminal which I need).

On DECEMBER. 24th 2008 I ordered and paid for themotherboard. When I received the package I found it was the wrongboard. I expressed this to the company and didn't hear back initially.By the end of January I was provided a RMA and returned the board alongwith a picture of the correct mother board. I was contacted again afterthe picture was misplaced and emailed another one. That was APRIL 15th.By APRIL 28th I was sent the correct mother board but it didnot work. I promptly returned it along with emails explaining theissues I was having with this defective board. A suggestion was floatedthat I send in my computer which I was not going to trust them, oranyone for that matter, with especially after it took so long just toget me the correct mother board.

It is now DECEMBER 29th and after several emails and acouple of phone calls to someone named Rena I have nothing to show forthe initial $280.00 I paid in cost and shipping. I've received none ofthe promised return phone calls, nor have any of my emails beenanswered. I've contacted the Attorney Generals office here in Rhode Island and they contacted them. I heard back today from someone at the Attorney Generals office who received a letter stating they (etech) offered to help and I refused their offer (never happened). They requested that I send them my computer and I refused, this is true... No way was I going to trust them. And the board I sent them was water damaged, which is the first I heard of this since I sent it back (so that's why it wouldn't work). I called again to get some answers, but I got the same old "my manager is not in, I'll give him the message" At this point I'm considering legal action for fraud. I gavethem my money and have absolutely nothing to show for it... Nothing atall. This is an unacceptable situation no matter how you spin it!!!
