Technologies false billing ripoff (censored) consumer fraud

I recently got a bill for $19.56 from Alyon Technologies - didn't know what it was. Their bill instructs you to go on-line for billing questions. I did so, and their website indicated that adult-oriented content was downloaded from my computer. Their FAQs listed in detail why there was no question that something had been downloaded from an adult-oriented website. They didn't name the website. I was aware that my husband occasionally looks at adult-oriented websites, so I assumed he had truly incurred the charges.

I followed the directions on their website to remove the "dialer" he had downloaded from our computer. The instructions were voluminous and took a lot of time to go through. Today I wrote and mailed a check for $19.56, thinking that was the end of it, but thought I better check my "account" with Alyon in order to make sure no additional time had been accrued. There was an additional 41 minutes billed to my account - it was the date and time I was trying to remove the "dialer" they claimed was downloaded from my computer!

When I got home my husband indicated he had called their customer service number in the meantime and been told that additional time had been accrued to the tune of $210.00. He explained I had been trying to get this thing off our computer, and they basically said "tough" and that we had to pay them or sue them. He was embarrassed and just wanted to get this mess out of our hair so he gave them a credit card number for the charges. We will be disputing the charges after reading everyone else's rip off report, but I don't know what to do about my check because they claim there will be a $25 fee for stopped checks - plus the bank fee to stop a check is more than $19.56!

I don't know what to do - can anyone help?
