Listed a Platinum and diamond engagement ring valued at $7000.00 on Ebay. I had a question if I would just sell the ring as (SELL NOW) and he offered me 4500.00. I accepted the offer. He emailed me the name of an ESCROW company that he said he used Often. Being a new seller on EBAY and unfamiliar with the process of selling and the escrow process I signed up for an account thru LIBERTY-SCS escrow company. He went thru the process of securing my payment thru the escrow company.
I shipped the ring to Claudel Samuel Rue Etats Generaux NO 43 Versailles France 78000 thru FedEX. (tracking number 860292615231). He stated that the ring was automatically insured thru the escrow company. Upon arrival in Paris the ring went to customs. He refused to pick it up stating that he needed the ring before they would release it and to call FED Ex and have it returned to me. I had the ring returned.
He then wanted me to ship thru UPS tracking number (1z493R220426958431) and state on the customs form that it was a gift so it would not get held up in customs. He also wanted me to ship it to his brothers address stating that I would get the payment faster since he was going out of town for a week.
I shipped the ring again thru USP and it was delivered to Ruben Schmitz Rue De Dantzig NO 2 Paris France 75015 on 8/03/09.
I became concerned when I tried to notify the excrow campany and could not get a response. I researched on line and found that the escrow company is a fraud!
Why is the web sight still able to exsist if authorities know it is a FRAUD?
I have lost a ring valued at $7000.00 and the shipping and expenses totaling more than $300.00.
