AOL *Online Service
Ripoff dishonest fraudulent billing screwed others too

Internet & Web

I had been with Aol.com for along time. I have been very pleased with my service til now. I decided to start using a cable connection for speed and reliability, and switch my plan to: bring your own connection for 9.95.

I recently looked over my charges on my visa and about fell out.in fifteen months that I have looked at so far, I have been charged $3,000. So I called to see what was going on with the billing. The told me that I was on a minute plan. I said no, I'm on bring your own connection plan.

I'm trying to explain to them that I was on their unlimited service using their connection for 21.95. Then I connected to Charter Cable Modem and went to what they labeled bring your on connection for 9.95 a month. Why would I even switch off my old plan with them? To save me $12 a month with them. The first month was 9.95. Then it escalated up to 450. A month!!! So, theres a dispute of what type of service I was supposed to have been receiving.

And also I wanted my Visa credited for all the over charges since this mistake has happened. AOL says they did nothing wrong, (Is charging someone four hundred dollars a month Right?) but after looking over alot of case laws and judgements against AOL, I see that they screwed alot of people overcharging their Visa cards. I called telephone support and all they did was rubbed in my face offering me two free months of service.

I wanted to resolve this peacefully. I even wanted to stay with AOL service. But until this, that won't be possible. Im sure others have same problem as me, from the looks of all the legal postings. This is not the way to resolve this problem, and I dont want to burden their corporation with legal action. I too, run a corporation for 17 years now. But I will be coming in a full charge, and soon.

PS. Please don't disregard this letter. Get it to whom it needs to get to.
