Fortress Manufacturing
Took money with promise of building a custom trailer. Upped the quoted price three weeks later or offered refund

Fortress manufacturing answered a craigslist wanted ad I had placed as I was seeking to have custom made a trailer for contracting use. I paid via corporate check a deposit of $500. We agreed on specs via phone and email. We also agreed on timeframe of about one to to two weeks for delivery.,

Two weeks pass and I call for an update. He says another week or so. One week passes I call for an update. He says he tried to buy materials but the price of materials has unexpectedly gone up. I begin to get nervous. He offers to refund the $500. I agree. He agrees. One week passes, no check. I phone for an update. He says he sent a money order. He says give it some time to arrive. One week passes. Still no check. I phone for an update. He says he'll have to put a stop on the money order and have it reissued. I make this guy out to be a liar, a thief, and a good one. It's been a total of about eight weeks now, no money returned, non responsive to emails, ignores my phone calls and goes on advertising his business online. This guy is a crook. Don't trust him.
