Amazon
Seller ripoff

Internet & Web

According to amazon's own policy
"If a seller has clearly misrepresented the condition or details of an item in a way that affects its value or utility, it is "materially different." In such cases, that seller should be willing to offer a refund or exchange when contacted within 14 days of receiving the item."

Buyer emailed me 3 weeks (over 14 days from delivery since I kept track of the shipping info) after purchase saying she ordered the wrong book by mistake, then filed a claim with amazon that it was "materially different".
Amazon sent me a notice, I emailed them back, citing their own policy. They told me that she's still allowed to return the book within 30 days notwithstanding the fact that she even lied as to the reason for the return and did not follow 14 days rule.

I have issued refunds previously in cases where a customer hasn't been satisfied with a product, and they have notified me soon after they received the book. I also have 100% positive rating over the past 3 years. Never had any problems with amazon before either.

Just as there are sellers who'll rip you off, so are there plenty of buyers who don't appreciate the fact that they're already getting a cheap deal. This is a business, and things like that come with the territory, but sellers need to speak up, amazon charges us commission, we should have a guarantee that prevents things like this.
