Apparently Verizon has a habit of automatically adding services to your account simply because you ask them about them. My wife called Verizon to inquire about their Protection Pack service they offer. Upon doing so, she specifically told them no less than 5 times "WE DON"T WANT TO SIGN UP FOR THE SERVICE"

The next time I get a bill, theres a $19.99 charge for Verizon Protection Pack. When I call to dispute I am told the service is active and they will not refund the money. They also insist that I agreed to the terms and conditions found in an email they sent me (got the email, never clicked anything).

Be very wary of talking with their reps about any services, if they think they can get around it, they will go ahead and sign you up and ask questions later.
