Desktop PC left for diagnostics was seized, parted out, and sold

My custom-built desktop personal computer was left for diagnostics at SWS Electronics, located at 3731 E. Speedway Blvd., Tucson, AZ 85716, phone #520-628-1613. SWS chose to seize, part out, and sell my computer without my knowledge or notifying me whatsoever!

I did not receive any updates regarding the status of the diagnostics, so I chose to give them a call. Their employee then notified me that my computer, with its expensive upgrades and parts not to mention very sensitive and sentimental pictures and files, had been parted out piece by piece and sold. They said this was because I did not make an attempt to pick up the computer within 30 days of drop-off, even though I did not hear anything and was not notified of any updates from them by e-mail, phone, or by mail.

Now, this policy was not listed on their list of rules, regulations, and policies as posted on their website, so I was completely surprised and caught off-guard by this and really thought they were joking. I believe this to be a completely unfair, dishonest, unethical, shameless, and petty business practice of stealing from their hard-working clients who put their trust in them in order to make a profit.

I'm a student who works to get through school and I wouldn't be surprised if this was a case of age discrimination as well, with this company hoping I would not be able to do much about this situation.in these hard times, it is actually not hard to believe, but I am just so upset with this company I could go on forever. Imagine leaving your car at your local repair shop only for them to tell you that they have sold it! Unbelievable!

I urge anyone in the Tucson area to avoid this business at all costs! It seems they will do anything to make a profit and I hope this will help others to avoid similar situations.
