123Together, 123Together.com, Group Spark, Collaboration Online, Mindshift Technologies Company Online backup bogus, required outlook fees, bad customer service, will not cancel

On September 9th of 2008 we requested online backup services. As part of the backup services, the company required us to route our outlook emails through them for an additional price. Each additional user after three there was another additional fee. Blackberry was another fee. All the above requiring additional set up fees.

On October 17th we attempted to cancel the service since it was a very cumbersome backup loading only one document at a time, taking many hours of effort, and not being able to quickly drop tens of thousands of documents to the backup site. The company then told us that the format we were using was not correct and closed our account, but immediatley re-opened it under another format.

Finally, on November 10th, when the newer format did not produce satisfactory results, we closed our account thinking we were done with 123Together.

We received one more bill December 1st, did not pay it thinking that it was an error, and we never received any more bills and moved on.

On April 16 all our company email was shut down. After scrambling to find the problem we found that 123Together had NOT closed our account and kept it open, routing our emails through them with major charges for services we were not using.

I contacted 123Together immediatly on April 17th and was told that Amybeth was not available until Monday the 20th. I called Amybeth on her direct line on the 20th. She confirmed that we did close our accounts on the dates mentioned above, but that on November 11th, the day after we supposedly closed our account for the last time, it was reopened. Amybeth then told me that she shows invoices of $344.94 for December, $210.95 for both January and February, $234.95 for March, $210.95 for April, and has recently snail mailed us all these invoices totaling $1435.66. Keep in mind that this billing is for an account that was closed (Amybeth confirmed the closed account on November 10th).

Amybeth also said that we can only cancel our account online, but our online access has been deactivated because of non-payment. She said that we will continue to be billed until we pay in full which will restore our online access, then we can go on ourselves and cancel! Then the cancellation will take one month to take effect.

I sent a letter in an attempt to cancel this account via an alternative emial & fax, but have not had any response.

I have also sent another letter Certified Return Receipt Requested... Nothing yet.

Amybeth told me that we MUST use 123Together or a similar company to receive our emails. This is totally bogus as we went back to our original email system that did not cost us any set up fees, and does not cost us any extra email fees.

Our company has lost hundreds of emails and received emails delayed for over three weeks as we transferred back to our original system.

I have seen similar reports about this company on various websites, the main thing being that once you are signed up they make it very difficult to cancel, and when you think you are cancelled they come back at you several months later wanting fees.

Beware of 123Together (a fictitious name), Group Spark their previous name and Online Collaboration LLC & Mindshift Technologies Company (another newer name). All these names for the same company makes you wonder???
