This busines took money from my business and partners under false pretences

The business startyourserver.com referred to us by an associate took money for domains purchasing, hosting and affiliated services. Several days later my associates and myself were getting unusal emails from startyourserver.com which sent alarm bells ringing. Unfortunately the domain business startyourserver.com had abnormalties to the ownership and hidden information to track them down, and took money from my company and my associates under false pretences. My associates want their domain name released back to them which deems to be seen locked in for six months but who with may I ask? The same situation has happened also to us too, whereas we wish the domain name back but who do we ask and how can this be applied.
