Total Ripoff

Startup Essentials is a total RIPOFF. The company Startup Essentials and their leasing arm A-1 Leasing is one and the same. The have you to sign a non-cancallable lease. Not legal. The apparently do not understand that US law makes the financing company responsible for the goods if financing is provided by the vendor. The sale is a credit card processing business. There is no business.

You got a $500 laptop, Acer, that you can purchase at Wal-mart for $500. That is all. Then they try to harrass you for payments. They try to stand on that non-cancellable lease. They have been sued and they lost in a class action suit. They have nothing. They filed bankruptcy to keep from paying the damages of the class action suit.

They try to indicate they are a bank when collecting. They try to claim they are attorneys when collecting. They try to claim they will sue you in court and that they will attach a lein on all you property. This is all illegal when trying to collect debts under the fair debt collection laws. They figure if you are harrassed and pressured enough tha you will go ahead and pay. For what?

If there really was a business it might be worth the $8800 or $11000 they are trying to collect. But no business so worth nothing. And they will not deliver anything but a laptop. I am looking forward to getting them into court but it is impossible to get them to court cause they do not have actual address and people to serve. They have broken many laws in financing, and debt collection as well as the lease itself. My advise is do not, and i repeat not, do business with startup essentials. Period.
