Sir Cooper Printing
Made an unauthorized withdrawal from my bank account

Internet & Web

I ordered 3 11x17" posters from the website called "Sir Cooper" printing service. I authorized a total (which included shipping charge of $13.35 to Canada) of $15.65 for this transaction. Now I had used this service before because the posters themselves were quite cheaper than others and they seemed to deliver quickly. However, this last time they went into my bank account after the original deduction of $15.65 and removed another $55.00 without authorization for what they call "international shipping charge" the next day. Luckily, I monitor my account frequently and caught it right away. I had to close the account immediately after reaching my bank, as it had been compromised. First, there is no godly way it costs $55 to ship this particular package to Canada. I know because I've shipped items there many many times. Second, this amount was not mentioned anywhere at anytime during the original online ordering where I did type the Canadian address clearly. I was charged $13.35 for the shipping plus the $2.31 poster cost at that time and I paid with my Visa debit card. Third, if they would have contacted me first (as they should have) before stealing $55 out of my account, I would have changed the shipping address to my own, instead of Canada. But they never got my permission and took the money. I emailed them immediately after learning of this unautorized charge and the email I got back was arrogant and stubborn in tone. I am currently disputing the charge with my bank. If they had stepped up and admitted a mistake and made it right, they may have kept me as a future customer. As they decided not to do the right thing, I will not be using their services again. What they did should be illegal, and if anyone knows the laws governing these type of transactions, I would love to hear from you.
