Refusal to correct numerous mistakes, nor finish revisions to my business website." Extortion "

Kerri McMullen was hired as a sub-contractor to help with photography work. Digital and computer processing and revamping and redesign of my business website, at the rate of $7.00 per hour, which she accepted, and signed an agreement which was prepared. The first job was for McMullen to re-design the studio website and add new photos, for the agreed upon price of $400.00. McMullen made changes to the website and added photos to the site in August of '08. However, there were many mistakes in grammar and with spelling and the work she had done to the site was very poor! McMullen was paid in full $400.00 on August 15,08. I notified McMullen in September, about the many mistakes that needed corrected a.S.A.P. And that I was not happy with the website. McMullen told me that she would make the necessary corrections to the site soon but, she had some medical issues with her shoulder and back, and said she cannot sit to work? However, she told me that she drives two hours back home to Ohio most weekends... But her back & shoulder does not keep her from sitting in the car for hours? I called her numerous times, and I e-mailed her also many, many times and practically begged her to come in for new photos for the site, and to ask if she had made the corrections to the many mistakes she made on the website? She made excuse after excuse why she could not correct the mistakes and that she had Doctors Appts. Along with the her back pain, that kept her from working.

Finally, in mid October, many weeks later, McMullen came to the studio. I explained page by page, all the mistakes that needed correction, in spelling, grammar, and also pointed out to her the sloppy layout and design on the site, which I must say she had already been paid for in full! McMullen assured me that she would work on my website that weekend (mid October), when she would make all of the corrections we discussed, plus, add new photos to the site. As of this date, none of the corrections have been made, and no new photos are up on the site. McMullen is now, trying to "extort" money from me by demanding I pay a higher rate than she agreed to, and, that she has already been paid for! McMullen refuses to make the agreed upon corrections to her mistakes nor make revisions, nor upload any new photos to the site? She has also threatened to remove photos that have been up on the site since August, unless I pay her more money!

This is outrageous, unethical and extremely unprofessional, to say the least! I have copies of the e-mails she sent me demanding I pay whatever price she dreams up, plus, her Paid invoice for the website design. I will send the BBB a copy of our work agreement, that McMullen agreed to and signed on June 18.
