Old Orchard Books Aka Jitterbook
The company stole my textbooks from me!

Internet & Web

I did business with Jitterbook because they buy books on their website. Since I am a student, I have many textbooks that I would like to sell for extra money. They offered me a quote for my books totaling $565.67 and I sent the books to their Postage Due unit free of charge.initially, I thought the company was great. However, when it came time for the company to pay me, they never did.

The company let the quote expire a month later and claimed they never received the books. I contacted the company to ask them about the shipment and they said they would contact me when they received it. They have not contacted me. I sent Jitterbook several invoices via PayPal to which they did not respond.

In addition, I called the US postal service about the packages I sent in: 2 20-lb boxes of books. The Postal Service told me that any package that is either lost or not picked up would be returned to the sender. The people I spoke to also thought it was odd that 2 large boxes would just disappear like that.

Jitterbook had their representative at the Postal Service call me early one morning to lecture me about how packages always get lost. Apparently, he was misinformed because he was shocked when I told him that 2 large packages were "lost in the mail." In fact, he specifically told me on the phone that he did not read the BBB claim and had no idea what it said.

I filed a report to the Better Business Bureau, and the company responded by calling my report slanderous and claiming that they did not deserve such treatment. They did change their website after the claim to include disclaimers about lost mail and advised people to get tracking, which they had discouraged beforehand. I saw the books I had sent them being sold on the website, but they were removed after the BBB claim.indeed this company is dedicated to students: they are dedicated to stealing from students.
