Consumer Report

Miscellaneous

To Whom It May Concern: On 3-14-12 I ordered a last print edition of the Encyclopedia Britannica ISBN # 9781593398378 for $999.99 using my credit card. Textbook.com notified me that the books were on the way and gave me a tracking #. The books were in fact available and existed because they were in the mail. They were supposed to arrive sometime on 3-21-12 or a few days later and I was to notify textbook.com if the books did not arrive within 3 weeks. On 3-21-12 textbooks.com emailed me that the order was cancelled because the books were not available. How can the books not be available when they were already mailed and on there way. I believe that textbook.com did not realize that the value of the product rose at least $400 in a week and now they somehow cancelled the process of the shipment to my address and are now awaiting for the return of the books from the post office. I paid for those books fairly and honestly and now because of there greed textbooks.com want to return the books to themselves and keep the future profit for themselves.By the way, textbook.com is now selling the books for $1500.00. This is an outrage to all consumers and the company should be put out of business or at the very least they should honor my transaction and send the new books to me as promised. If this is not criminal I know that this at least consist of consumer fraud and should be corrected immediately. Sincerely JOSEPH PENNA (Personal Information Removed)
