Free trial hell! Rude customer service fraudulent company

Internet & Web

I signed up for a 30 day "free trial" back in the summer of 2006. I used the service for about a month, then called to cancel it. The customer service rep that I spoke with told me that she was "experiencing problems with her computer" and assured me that it would be canceled. I asked her for a confirmation number, she told me since she had not canceled it yet, that she could not supply me with one.

So I went about my business trusting that the account had in fact been canceled. The email address that I used is one that I rarely check if ever. 2 years later, I receive a bill in the mail for $376 some odd dollars, the bill was for monthly service charges accrued over the past 2 years.

I called customer service and spoke with them regarding this issue. I told them that I had called to cancel the account back in late summer of 2006. The woman told me that "I never called to cancel the account" and that they would not remove the charges. I asked to speak with a supervisor. The supervisor I spoke with was very rude, telling me that "by clicking I agree under the terms and conditions contract, that I would be held responsible for all fees incurred." I told her that I AM BLIND, but I did read the terms and conditions, and I did cancel the account so this is NOT my fault, and I can not be held liable for these fees, the terms and conditions have nothing to do with it". She rudely responded with, "that's not our problem, you need to have someone read the fine print for you."
So I told her to CANCEL MY ACCOUNT NOW so I would not be charged any further fees. She assured me that she had canceled it right then. She asked me to give her a different credit card number so I could pay my "existing balance of $376", so I told her no, and that I am not paying for a service that I CANCELED and did not use!

That was a month ago. Yesterday I received another bill in my email from stamps.com, showing charges for the $367 plus another $15.99 for this past month's usage fee! They still have not canceled my account!!!

This company is a scam, stay as far away from them as possible, the customer service is RUDE, and they will not cancel your service no matter what you do. I am in the process of filing a suit against them. Never in my life have I had to deal with anyone like them.
