Stamps.com
Unauthorized charges after repeatedly cancelling service Internet

Internet & Web

I signed up for a free trial of Stamps.com several months ago. I decided to cancel since the monthly fee cost more than the postage I used. I called the number they gave and canceled the service. The representative asks if you like to receive another month free (of course making it seem worth it) and I agreed. Unfortunately, I forgot about it. Then I noticed that I was being charged $15.95 every month. I called my credit card company and told them that I did not want to pay that fee anymore. I then called Stamps.com again to request that the service be canceled, but they wanted me to pay the most recent fee. I told them that I hadn't used the service and did not want the service. They again tried to offer me another month free, which I refused this time and told them that I just wanted it canceled. After seeing the fee on my credit card bill again for several months, I contacted my credit card company again. This time they said they would contact Stamps.com. I was told that most times when the credit card company contacts them and threatens fraud and other similar actions, they back off. I recently received a reply from Stamps.com that the service was canceled and I would not owe anymore money. I will be reading my bank statements and credit card bills very closely from now on!
