Overcahrging tax on online purchases Internet

I ordered a laptop computer the last day of 2007. The bill that was sent to my email was correct and had the correct tax amount. When I received notice of shipment, I went online and looked at the bill again and fond that Dell online had change the tax amount and was overcharging me by 1.49% and had charged tax on "shipping and handling".

I called their "custom service" for billing. I got an overseas person who said Dell charges the same tax for the entire state. I was told I would have to talk to their tax department. I called the number I was given and the recording said they no longer "spoke to people" and that I would have to send an email. I sent the email and it was returned as "a bad email".

The company I work for uses Dell so I tried to see if I could get any help from them. Even they are unable to find out why Dell is over-charging tax.

DO NOT trust what you see in your ordering bill. Dell will change any charge before it is sent out and will not notify you. Do NOT expect to get any help from their "custom service". It is a JOKE.
