EMusic Fraudulently Charges Credit Card with ploy of 50 Free Downloads

Internet & Web

We purchased your product because of the advertising on the package "50 Free Downloads" by eMusic, which did sway us. We purchased MP3s for our boys, however eMusic has charged our credit card $9.99 and we have not exceeded the 50 download limit (Kidz Bop 10 & 12).

I've already discussed this via email with eMusic and they state that this is non-refundable per some section code. It's funny how they don't mention any of this on their advertisement on the product package. Also, they do not even allow you to download any 50 free songs until you register with your credit card in case you exceed the 50 song limit. This is fraudulent advertising if you ask me and if they won't credit our account, then we'll be forced to return the merchandise.

This just seems to be one big scam by eMusic to keep billing everyone $9.99 knowing they're safe from having to refund anyone. How convenient that there's no way to contact their customer service by phone. So basically, by purchasing your product, the consumer is being charged an additional $9.99.
