They charged my account for several months while refusing me their service

Many months ago i tried to open an account with freecreditreport.com, otherwise known by CIC credit management which is how they bill you so as not to be traceable back to themselves. When i attempted to create the account with them I was refused service because they said they could not verify that i was who i said i was due to my recent change of address. They sent me an e-mail that said if i was still interested in using their service i could call and provide other forms of identification to activate an account.instead i choose to use a different agency that was much easier to deal with.

I thought that was the end of it, until i noticed a charge of $12.00 had been deducted from my checking account once or twice a month every month since about july. It took much tracking down and the help of this site to link the name on the deduction to the actual company. Thankfully a previous poster had named them and posted a phone number for CIC.

When i called they were of course rude beyond imagining and insisted that even though they refused me service and provided nothing in exchange for my 12 to 24 dollars a month that they were in no way wrong to do so. Even though no services were rendered i was still charged and no money would be refunded.

This is a blatant theft and should not be allowed to continue.
