ASUS swap and ripoff

On November 4th I purchased a ASUS Maximus Formula SE motherboard for $289.99. That evening upon returning home I open the box only to find a different motherboard (ASUS P5K) instead of the Maximus SE. Also missing was the soundboard and software. I immediately called the Fry's store from which I purchased it. I spoke with a woman employee, explaining the situation and she informed me to just return the product. November 5th I returned to the store to return the product and all hell broke loose. The customer service representative with a puzzled look turn to his customer service manager who proceeded to call everyone in the store to take a look at the returned product. The manager proceeded to call ASUS to figure out where this wrong motherboard in the different product box came from. After an hour of waiting patiently was told they could not do anything and that I would have to contact corporate to resolve this. I was not a happy customer as at this point I was told I just lost $300.00 and still not received the product I thought I had paid for. Curiously enough, I asked the customer service manager what they do when a product is missing parts and his reply was that they replace the missing parts. I responded that my product box was missing several parts including the motherboard. His response was "you have a point". So now the burden is left to the customer to try and recover their loss.
