Telemarketer Promised Gift Card and DSL Rebate, Neither Received

A telemarketer called from AT & T and asked if I would like to add long distance to my services. If I agreed, I would receive a $25.00 gift card after the initial trial period was over. It never happened.

About 4 months ago AT & T called again and asked if I would like DSL internet. There would be a rebate for 49.99 to defray the cost of the equipment. After waiting the 8 weeks, I called the number given and was told the rebate was never received. They requested a copy, which I did not have. However, I did have the proof that the merchandise had been paid for and purchased.

I know the equipment company is a private company. However, I personally dealt with AT & T, and they should have been more instrumental in ensuring that the follow-up for the rebates was fair and honest.
