Steel account numbers, deduct membership fees, and customer service is bunk. You can NEVER get a person

I was contact several weeks ago by a promotional company called Credit Life. They would send me free magazines, and I could just call before my membership ran out to cancel further fees. I never gave my account information to the company, but had a $149 membership fee deducted on 7/20. The membership package I needed to cancel the subscription did not arrive until the following week.

I have been calling the customer service dept faithfully, everyday, to leave messages about this $149.00 fee. I always get a recording saying they're having "technical difficulties, " leave a message and we'll get back to you. I have left several messages over the last month, and nobody has returned my calls.

Today, I have an additional $12.50 membership fee deducted from my account from the same company. I 'm going to have to shut down my checking account to avoid further fees.
This is ridiculous... And has to be against the law.
