Rebate on replaced laptop ripoff

I bought a laptop before last X'mas. Tiger Direct's ad showed $100 rebate. I took the laptop back to the store next day to get replacement after one button was found not functioning. I was told to return it and re-purchase it after store technician inspected the computer. I use the second receipt to file rebate. Three months later I got an email said 'The order number found on the invoice/packing slip did not contain a qualifying purchase. Please resubmit a copy of the invoice/packing slip containing the order number.'
I called back and the guy took first receipt number and verified. He told me check is one the way but did not know how long it would take. I checked the assigned web site weeks later and found this new clam error, "Our records indicate this product has been returned, and is not eligible for the rebate." I called, explained again to another guy and he addressed he needed to talk to his manager. He only told me to check my assigned web site in another 6~8 weeks.
'I am lost.' Help!
