Computer Books Direct - Doubleday Select
Attempting to collect fraudulent charges from me by holding my credit hostage. Ripoff

Internet & Web

In 2001 I ordered books from this company. I paid for those books and others that I ordered. A few months later they bagan billing me for books that I had not ordered and had never received. I wrote to Computer Books Direct and let them know that their billing was in error. They turned the account over to a collection agency and never responded to me.

With full knowledge that their billing was fraudulent, they attempted to collect anyway. I wrote to the collection agency and explained that Computer Books Direct was attemting to use them to extort money from me on fraudulent charges. That agency sent me a letter of apology and ceased all activity.

Six years later, another collection agency has been hired by Computer Books Direct to continue their fraud. They have trashed my credit report without even so much as sending me a letter asking about the charges. The name of the agency is: RJM ACQ LLC, 575 Underhill Blvd. Ste. 2, Syosset, NY 11791.

This is anther attempt at fraud by Computer Books Direct using another collection agency to attempt to extort money that I do not owe to them. What do I have to do to stop these people?
