Ripoff Excessive charges for replacement battery

My Palm handheld device battery lasted about 18 months. A new battery requires sending it to a service center for welding the battery. The device told me the battery was low so I diagnosed the problem myself but was still charged $15. For diagnosis on top of shipping and a new $25. Battery. Almost $50. Total every 18 months is excessive maintenance and you will not find this information in any of Palm's printed material. I will not buy anymore Palm products.
