Thinkall Publishing - Thinkall.com
Sleazy, unethical business practice of charging credit card without my knowledge for supposedly "free" CDs, ripoff, Plano

Internet & Web

On the website for ThinkAll Publishing that I reached through a free solitaire site, the company says a person can order 4 "Free" CDs for postage only and that all that is required is that we tell another person about the offer giving the impression that the "free" CDs are a marketing tool. No where on the site does it state that once you receive said CDs that 2 of them must be returned within 10 days or your account will be charged for all four at $41.90.

Once you receive the CDs, the package is lime green with small orange lettering that makes it next to impossible to read the admonition to read the License Agreement that indicates that if you accept the 4 CDs, you agree to have your account charged every five weeks for CDs that are randomly mailed to you.

In black on lime is written that ""you can cancel anytime" by visiting the website www.thinall.com/free CD.html." That is a LIE. The invoice indicates: "Our friendly Customer Service Associates are available 24 hours a day, 7 days a week at support@thinkall.com. That is a LIE.

Once I discovered that I had been scammed, I immediately attempted to call to cancel. All I received was "We are not available. Please call at another time." Every time I called, I received the same message. I could not access original the website. The computer message was "Page not found." I emailed the support address and received no reply. I have also written a letter canceling but don't know if they have moved from Garland to another city in Texas which it appears they do quite often.

In addition I looked on the internet and discovered several other people were writing blogs entitled "Thinkall SUCKS! They had the same experience as I and were warning others. Too bad I hadn't seen those sites before I was taken advantage of.

I notified my bank and told them to reject any charges from this company and if a charge gets through, I will contact the fraud department.

I would be willing to be part of a class action suit against these people. I told the bank I would honor the $41.90 one time, as I was responsible for being stupid once. "Fool me once, shame on you. Fool me twice, shame on me."

The irony is that I can't even use two of the CDs I chose. They won't open on my Mac 10.2! The one CD I really wanted was the solitaire one. It has great games BUT, it makes my computer howl with a horrible sound occasionally when I try to open it.

So, I am disappointed all around especially in the callous way this company takes advantage of honest, albeit naive, people.
