Bait and switch - point of sale rip-off! Internet

At point of sale, ShopNBC offered a lifetime of free internet service, an extended repair agreement for $129.95 and a 30 day, money back, return policy. It was not until after the 30 day return policy had ended that a "Lifetime of Free Internet" became 10 hours, they wanted to charge $185.00 for the Extended Repair (Service) Agreement.

My purchase was with ShopNBC. It is their responsibility, not mine, to aquire, secure and honor, those parts of a contract used for leverage at point of sale. At ShopNBC's Customer Service Department, Vana, Steven, Carla and account specialist Jennifer, all carried the same sentiment-THAT'S LIFE.

At first I wrote letters to Customer Relations, ShopNBC's CEO (Mr. Gene McCaffrey) and management. I was not able to find anyone to address my concerns. Eventually, I was able to keep the Extended Repair Agreement at $129.95. I was never able to get free internet for life even though it is clearly stated on the Systems Bill Of Materials that came with the system.

ShopNBC continually sights Netzero and V2Premier as the culprits. I have since closed my charge account, refusing to give ShopNBC a dime and have told them they are welcome to retrieve there system. ShopNBC is solely responsible for any and every issue (offer), used as leverage at point of sale. ShopNBC has sent my account to a collection agency, which I find amusing.

Since I did not but my computer system from a collection agency the chances of them getting paid are less than zero. V2Premier and Netzero have been supportive but unable to honor contracts sold by ShopNBC. To say the least, it is my opinion, ShopNBC is a company that preys on those with, low or limited funds, lack of knowledge and inability to shop in the retail market due to disabilities (I fall into each category). Well, the best of luck to all of you. How does the saying go? No great fortune was ever acquired without a great crime.
