Rebate Ripoff Flim Flammed Me By Claiming Name And Address On The Rebate Form Not Matching The Invoice

Today I recieved an email from onrebate that said:
"Our system indicates that your rebate application has been denied.

The following requirements were not met:
Conflicting Data - Rebate information does not match Invoice. We are unable to process the claim due to the name and address on the rebate form not matching the invoice."

I called the telephone number given to see how I could correct this inadvertent error and was promptly told "it can't be corrected!" I followed all other instructions to the letter, and frankly I have no proof that there was conflicting data. But even if there was, A legitimate company would provide a correction mechanism for otherwise proper and timely rebate claims.

It gets worse: I called (and wrote) Tiger Direct (inrebate.com's partner - they have interlocking management!) asking for help in the matter and was promptly told the best thing to do was to file a rebate guarantee claim.

I looked at the requirements for that and frankly it would be eassier to get Bin Laden a work visa for Washington DC than comply with all the requirements they demand to even consider a claim.

Folks, if it walks like a duck and quacks like a duck, than it is a duck! This is a scam whereby the internet customer has no way to get action. I repeatedly requsted telephone numbers and/or email addressed of persons that had the authority to help me solve this or accept my complaint but the gatekeepers that answerd my call would not honor my request to escilate to a supervisor.

Bottom line: I can not recommend that anyone deal with a rebate that goes through onrebate.com. I know I will never do so again.
