Ripoff continue to conspire to bill fraudulent charges on Verizon

I received a charge from ILD Teleservices for $16.30 (afer taxes) on my Verizon telephone bill. I immediately searched the internet for SurfSafe Internet and found this site and several complaints of the same exact nature.

I got the IDL 1-800 phone number and called it. The autobot that answered identified SurfSafe Internet. I keyed in my phone number and was put on hold for a period of time.

Someone named "Rosey" answered after several minutes of my being on hold. My guess is they hope you hang up.
I again gave her my information and told her that I did not order internet service through SurfSafe. I have cable internet service. I told her that I had checked online and found multiple complaints about ILD and SurfSafe. I demanded the charges be terminated and a refund of the amount billed.

She gave me the story about calling SurfSafe for the refund. The number she gave me for that is 1-800- I called the number and got a recordein that business hours are Mon - Fri 8am-6pm. As it is currently after business hours I will be calling them back tomorrow and afer notifying them that I am recording the call. I plan to demand a refund.

I also hold Verizon responsible for continuing to do business with these companies and allowing them to bill their customers. It does not instill much confidence in Verizon's integrity. Especially since this is not the first time this has happened to me. A few years ago I was billed several hundred dollars through a similar scheme that originated in the Solomon Islands. It took several calls and several billing cycles to get the charges stopped and refunded but it did eventually happen.

I am glad that there is a place to air these complaints and inform people who are paying attentin. Imagine how much money they are making off of the people who don't scrutinize their bills.
