Unexpected charge on my Verizon telephone bill ripoff

I received a $14.95 charge on my Verizon bill this month. I was immediately surprised that it was for an internet company, because our home Internet service is not connected with Verizon at all.

The first Google result for SurfSafe Internet was the consumer complaints. I took this as a bad sign.

When I did find their web page, it was not obvious what their service was or why someone would want to sign up for it. This was a second bad sign.

Their address, 96 Linwood Plaza, Fort Lee New Jersey, is listed as a UPS Store. Following their instructions I have sent e-mail asking them to cancel their billing to my telephone number. We shall see what happens.
