Ripoff, no product, and no credit Nationwide

I purchased notebook 2200 before thanksgiving 05 as a Xmas for my 15 yr old daughter. It arrived early, but never worked on battery. They, (dell) said it was a bad battery, they replaced it, same problem. Then it was a software problem, we downloaded and they (dell) sent a disc, no good!

In the mean time dell sent someone out to replace the mother board, but another division of dell had finally agreed to replace it just before Xmas, appropriate emails and case numbers, and we waited.

After new years I get a call telling me that that model was discontinued, and if I would go to their website and PURCHASE another computer, they would make arrangements w/my ex-wife (my daughter is w/her) to collect the first non-working computer, their return shipping would take 5 days, a few days to scan it all back in, and another 3-5 business days for credit. At this point, I asked dell for my money back.

Now, the number that dell kept leaving to schedule pick-up of the failed laptop, didn't work, and they left it more than once. We finally took it upon ourselves to ship it back and pay the expense ourselves, and we have documentation that it was received 1/4/06. What do you think happened? BINGO! Nothing.

I called them on 1/18/06, finally talked w/someone who promised AGAIN, that I'd have my credit in 3-5 business days. Would you believe they called my ex-wife the following day, explaining it would now be 7-10 days, w/o a reason for this extended delay.

It's been 2 1/2 mths since I paid dell for a computer, just short of $1000.00. I neither have, and now don't want a dell product, but I would like my money returned, instead of their stalling tactics.

If you deal w/dell, BUYER BEWARE!
