Ripoff, identity theft suspect, scam, dishonest

This bogus company took my credit card information, said it was approved, then (THE FOLLOWING DAY) directed me to a page asking for a scanned copy of my drivers license, a scanned copy of the front and back of the credit card, and/or my credit card billing statement.

I contacted my bank immediately, as I have purchased NUMEROUS things on the internet over the years and none have EVER asked for anything like this. My bank advised me not to provide this information. The only reason they can think of for anyone to request such personal info is to steal my identity.

Soft4download.com (AKA http://download-store.net) is roping you in by the promise of cheap downloadable software and then attempting to scam you out of more personal information. Both phone numbers they provide are supposedly 24 hour customer service numbers in the US, but have a very funny ring and go only to an answering machine, not to a real person.

Stay away from this bogus company. They don't answer any of the previous rip off reports that address this issue.
