Internet Services charged for internet for 8 months after cancelled services Ripoff

I called to cancel my internet services with at&t last May and called them at least a dozen times and each time they told me it was cancelled but continued to take it out of my account all the way until January 2nd of 2005 and I called them again and was told it was cancelled and i told them they were still taking it out of my account. They apologized and said I would receive a check in march for the last three months they charged me for and I said no you owe me for 8 months and they said we can only pay back the last three months. Ive yet to see a dime and have called several times since than and Im still receiving a bill for 11.95 a month{the price for the internet }. I called last month and asked where my check was and was told to pay the 11.95 and they would close the account. I said it was suppose to be closed last year in May. Im not sending you anything. They are no longer taking it out but still havent closed the account and this will show on my credit as unpaid even though I havent had an account since last May.
