Shopper Discounts And Rewards
Ripoff! $9 membership monthly fee that I never agreed to

Internet & Web

Apparently, when you purchase from laredoute.com you somewhat get enrolled in Shopper Discounts & Rewards and get charged a $9 membership fee every month. I never agreed to enroll in this program and have no idea how they were able to get my consent. Howevere, IT IS POSSIBLE to get your money back.

I had been charged the fee for 6 months (I know: how didn't I notice it before!). I called and could easily talk to a representative. He immediately agreed to cancel my membership. I asked him repeatedly that I ALSO wanted a full refund for the 6 months I had been charged. After a little while, he agreed to refund 1 month and acted as if our phone conversation was over ("Is there anything else I can help you with today?") I said (twice) that I wanted a full refund.

He finally gave it to me. He claimed he was making an "exception" for me. It seemed obvious to me that they CAN and WILL give you a full refund (for the entire amount you have been charged) but you NEED to insist and ask for it. I haven't gotten the refund yet (I just called them). I will write again if, by any chance, I don't get my money back.
