America Online AOL
Fraudulent Dishonest Scammers Tricky

Internet & Web

I signed up with AOL after seeing an add for 2 months of free service. Also said in bold words, " cancel anytime, simply call before the trial ends " So I decided to sign up, then I did some research on AOL, AOL being such a populor company, I did not realize they were scammers! I immediately called to cancel, the customer service is ridiculess, they wont let you go, they try & trick you into services, I told them I want to cancel my account & they just kept asking me so many questions, even personal questions.

Then I was told that my account will be held until 03/24 & I can call back then, all the sudden I was redirected to something else, I was puzzled. I then called back the next day, I a bunch of crap again, kept trying to offer me services, eventually he said he will cancel my account. The next day I called back to make sure, there was an extremly rude man, I ask why my account is still active, he said it will be held until the 24th of February. I told him to cancel my account right now! He just kept say " it is canceld ".

I decided to go with it & wait till the 24th. But a couple days later, I received a letter in the mail. It said " This letter confirms that you agreed to continue AOL & will be charged $23.90 per 1 month (s) as agreed"!! I called back immediately, a lady answered & told me she doesn't know what that is all about!!! She told me my account will be canceled on the 24th though. So now I waited till then, I called back my account information is still in there database! They said my account was canceled though & they still continued to try & trick me into there service. AOL still has my information, so this worries me, they can activate my account at anytime. I'll wait & see if they have charged me, then post back.
