Ripoff would not stop taking money from my bank account Blank

I allowed my son-n-law to use my debit card to set up an aol account on their rented computer and my telephone number when they lived with me. When they moved out they returned their computer and had no phone at their new address. Obviously they did not need aol. When aol took a payment from my account I called my son-in-law and told him he needed to cancel the account. When he did not make that phone call another payment was taken out of my account. I called aol and they would not let me cancel the account. I told them it was my debit card and my money. They still refused to cancel the account. After much argument back and forth they said they would give me two months grace to have my son-in-law make a phone call to give them permission to cancel the account and stop taking MY MONEY. My son-in-law said he would make the call but never did.

I called aol again on Janury 25 when they once again took $23.90 out of my bank account. They told me I could not cancel the account because it was not in my name. I told them the debit card was in my name and I should be able to cancel them taking my money. This time after much arguing they said they would cancel the account but would not give me my money back. I asked them why they could not cancel it the first time I called. They said they had record of my first call but did not have record that I had called to cancel, (but somehow I had ageed to two more months... But I did not call to cancel???) I did not agree to keeping the account... It was the only choise they gave me. I asked them why then would I have called. They said they gets lots of calls from customers who realize what a great service aol has. I told them I was not one of them. They said they were a membership, not a service. I'm confused by this. Jody was the supervisor I spoke with and she just kept wanting to explain to me why I did not quality for a credit. They took my money when I asked them not to... But I don't qualify for a refund. I feel like they kept me on to get another payment out of me for a service that they knew was not being used. I would like to know if anyone else has had trouble cancelling an aol account.
