Ripoff Poor quality control unaccountable customer service

I purchased HP-compatible color and black ink cartridges for hp officejet d145. Both cartridges proved "expired" upon installation, about 3 months apart. Print Pal informed me that, even though the mistake was theirs, they do not ship overnight, so my replacement might not arrive for seven days.
I live in the Adirondack Mountains of New York, about 50 miles from any store where I can buy a legitimate replacement cartridge. I requested that they overnight a replacement, as I can not work without a printer. Print Pal informed me that, even though the mistake was theirs and even though this was the second consecutive such instance, their "policy" is to not ship overnight, so my replacement might not arrive for seven days, meaning I will now lose another day, driving back and forth to a store where I can purchase a cartridge that actually works.
When I remind them out that the essence of customer service is to take care of your customer, and not leave them in the lurch, they then insisted that most internet companies work this way. (This has not been my experience.) Incredibly, they then called me back, and informed me that they couldn't send me a replacement, as I had failed to return the previous "expired" cartridge they had sent me. When I mentioned that I was told to discard the cartridge, they denied I was told that.
I will now lose another day, driving back and forth to a store where I can purchase a cartridge that actually works. So now, for my original investment, I go from an unacceptable delay, to the theft of my investment outright. I will receive nothing. Print Pal? How about, incompetent Print Thief?
