I was on vacation in Europe and when I returned home to California I received a bill for $1200.00 from Tellis, the Long Distance Carrier for a company called Premier Premium Communications. The bill was for one long night of continuous calls to one telephone number in England starting at 1:21 am and going on till the next morning with absolutely no breaks.

Needless to say I was shocked and outraged. I called SBC since they appeared to be thte third party biller for Tellis. The operator was of no help, but the supervisor immediately credited my account. Apparently the story was not new to her.

I thought the matter was resolved until I received another bill a few days later. This bill was sent directly from Premier Premium Communcations and was for $360.00. This bill ignored the first 81 items of the previous bill, and focused on the last 12 items that I was previously billed for by Tellis. However, this time the charge was $30.00 for each 6 minutes whereas every 3 minutes or so the call supposedly disconnected and started again for another $30.00.

When I called and asked them why they were billing for the same minutes three times in the same bill, they explained to me as though I was retarded that it was my choice to disconnect in the middle of a call, then call again a minute later and pay double charges. As if someone would log on, agree to pay $30.00 for 6 minutes, log off after only 2 minutes and then immediately log on again for another $30.00. They must think people are incredibly stupid.

Ofcourse they absolutely refused to discuss the bill with me and only stated I have to dispute it in writing. They did make sure I understood that during the dispute process I will still be responsible for late fees which keep accruing during the investigation and that I will be sent to collection and my credit ruined if and when they determine that their bill is justified.

All of this for a bill for a date of service during which I was in Holland and can proove it with an airline ticket and a stamp in my passport. I am interested to find out what possible story they will make up to explain how a call was made from my computer when I was physically thousands of miles away from home.

I read on this web site of other people in similar situations with this company and it appears to me as a scam to make easy money on people that are naive enough to fall for it.

Should they handle my dispute in a reasonable manner and remove these fraudulent charges I will update this usacomplaints.com.
