Worse than thieves... These people are crooks

In October I noticed a check was cashed from my husband and I's checking account in the amount of 49.95. I was not familiar with the the company name Preferred Health Benefiton the check but figured my husband had written it, so Idid not pursueit. Now, one week ago, I noticed a 2nd check from this company again for 49.95 was cashed. This time I questioned my husband about the check. He said he has never heard of this company. My husbandthen called the telephone number on the back of the pre-printed check... Answering machine. No response. We will be visiting the bank tomorrow, but after reading the previousfraud reports it doesn't look as though the banks have been all that helpful. It appears they are putting the responsibility on the consumer to cancel the account they never opened. It is absolutely incredible that a company with acurrent web site can access someones bank account, WITHOUT AUTHORIZATION. Without ever having spoken to the person or the person having ever accessed their Web site... And with multiple fraud reports going back almost a year. How is this possible?
