Director of Care Center Programs at Monroe County Detention Cente

I worked for Westcare and the Care Center for 7 years with excellent ratings for all my yearly evaluations. I ran a team of counselors that recieved 100% on DCF audits for 5 years straight. We prepared and passed the CARF accreditation and were mentioned in the summary as one of the outstanding programs for our relationship with the correction staff. Then came Dr. Scafidi and Nadine Hood. Ms Hood was named Director of Criminal Justice programs for Westcare. Ms Hood complained to Scafidi about our program and without talking to me Scafidi called a meeting with all the staff of criminal justice. He accused us of not working as a team with Ms Hood. I tried to clarify and his response was "If your going to be defensive you need to leave". I left the meeting and a week later was fired for it. I have never had any kind of disciplinary in 7 years and for leaving a meeting I was asked to leave was fired. They did not even follow their own protocol for disciplinaries. Westcare is a joke they have unprofessional people at the top whose egos and power have gone to their heads. We are in the mental Health field and they dont' even treat the staff in a healthy professional manner. Dr. Scafidi is useless he plays favorites not even asking me prior to calling a mandatory staff meeting what was going on. Ms Hood is known in the community she is referred to as a spoon, always stirring up problems. That is the management at Westcare. Scary isn't it... I really feel bad for the remaining staff.
