In Focus Optometry
Optometry ripped me off and quite rude

I needed a new pair of glasses because mines were getting old and damaged. I went into In Focus Optometry because I've been there a few times in the past and i haven't really noticed them ripping me off, maybe it's because I'm too god dame nice. I came in and the lady behind the counter was for the most part polite.

I got an exam and choose my frames and lens. Looking back now as I think of it she did have this sneaky smile and look on her face. I ended up choosing three frames to put on hold because I wanted to see if I can get it someplace else cheaper. I asked the lady for the size of the glasses and she said all sizes are different and that she couldn't give me a size on the glasses. "What?" now as I think of it she could've given the model number and I could've looked it up on the internet, RED FLAG #1.

As I was choosing my three frames to put on hold, they were getting impatient on me being there and I wasn't there for that long either. The cost of my frames were $230 minus a 30% discount for paying out of pocket which came to $160 for Prada's pretty expensive now as i think of it. Then I sat down with the lady to talk about my final cost as to choosing the lens. The total cost came out to be $425 including exam, frames, lens; my eyes are really bad so the lens costed more. Dame this killed my bank account but I really needed the glasses so I agreed and put down a $200 downpayment and will pay the rest once the glasses were ready. I left thinking it's over final cost will be $425, not the case.

Later on that day received a call from the lady from the optometry stating she had made a mistake on the pricing of the lens and that my final cost would be $494 instead of $425 RED FLAG #2. Now I was getting suspicious. They wouldn't give me the $425 and it was her fault not mines. She had the ordascity to give me an ultimatum, "Do you want to get the glasses done or not?" in a rude tone. Let me tell you what I did next I will regret for the rest of my life, I agreed to get the glasses done anyway since I needed them so badly. If a business gave me that price shouldn't they honor it and it was their fault too. I was so angry. I will not allow for this business nor any other business to ever do that to me again. I maybe a shy person but when it comes to money, there's nothing that will get in my way.

I got ripped off all because I didn't have the guts to stand up for myself. Fight back as a consumer you the have right to WALK.
