Health & Medicine

I went to a fertility clinic for three years and had several invasive procedures. They diagnosed me with unexplained infertility a broad diagnosis. However they also had endometriosis suspected in my chart but they never followed up on that. I was in a program called shared risk if I didn't become pregnant after a two year period with three cycles of IVF they would refund all of my money. I was kicked out of the program due to a rise in my FSH lab levels and they said that I was in ovarian failure. They asked us if we were interested in the donar egg program we said no due our funds running out. I was also concerned with my treatment because I had b een mixed up with another patient on several occasions and the lab paperwork rarely had the correct birthdates right on my husband. We had decided to move on but two years later I went to another doctor due to some increasing pain in my lower abdomen. He thought that it might be endometriosis. He said the only way to know for sure is to do a Laproscopy. I told him that I had been to a fertility clinic and that they said I was in ovarian failure perimenopause due to increased fsh levels and that we had been unable to concieve. He ordered a fsh lab and it came back normal to my suprise. I called the clinic and asked how can this be? They said sometimes when your in ovarian failure your levels will fluctuate. But I had another drawn at a later time it was normal running consistent with the first. He did the laproscopy I had endometriosis he removed it and said now you can have a baby. I didn't believe him and three weeks later after the first time I had sex with my husband I was pregnant. I delivered a healthy baby. I called the clinic and told them I was not satisfied with my care and I thought I deserved a full refund due to not being properly diagnosed and also being kicked out of the program after only 7 months when I had two years. My levels may have come up if I had been given more time. I was kicked out of the program on a false diagnosis I was not in ovarian failure obviously. Also with such documentation who knows what lab results are correct. Also I was mixed up with another patient on several occasions. They admit no wrong doing. I feel like we were taken advantage of.
