MDI Medical Discount ripoff, the phone number is an answering machine, never answers ripoff fraud business

It all started with a phone call by an elderly lady asking if I had medical insurance in which I implied I did not. She told me of this new upstart company call MDI, she never told me what the initials stood for, but it had to do with discount card you would present to you Dr. Or drug store and you would get 20-60% off the total, I asked her if my doctor was on it and she said she did not have the computer on the doctor list, but she did mention Ekerd drugs, Wallgreens, Safeway etc. She said the program is 429.00 for a year and I would get 2 discount cards for the family, she asked me for a check account routing numbers, I asked if I could pay with VISA she said they were not equiped to handle credit card transactions, then I asked her if they had web site she said they were having problems loging in users and would be on line by end of week, she said she need every number on check including the check number, she mentioned that they can hold the check foe 4 weeks because of holidays and she said she would hold till January 31st well over the 4 weeks I said sure hold it for me.

I said then I would have a voided check wasted. I gave it to her then she gave me this phone number 877-877-6194 for customer service. As soon as we hung up I wanted to know if my doctor was on list I then called the 877-877-1694 number and got an answering machine, you have reached National Retail Sales and to leave a number, a bell went off in my head and chill down my back. I went online with my bank and put stop payment on it with the check number and amount of 429.00.

I confirmed I wanted it stopped, then on Monday 12/09 I get printed notice from bank stating they have put stop payment on the check, then I went online to see my account and saw that the check went through anyway, I looked at the image of the check and they did not use the check number I gave them, they used their own. I had been ripped, talked to both banks and neither one was helpfull, I called my bank again and got someone else who was willing to help me, he said he would see to it we would get money in 10-15 days. So beware of someone selling over phone and wanting check info only!!! Taught me a lesson. Watch out not even internet has info for this MDI no info on them anywhere
