Premiums paid - no service - run around continues after 7 months!

After being given the run around by reps and case managers for over 7 months they still have not found a Neurologist to follow up my care for brain lesions. I am in need of an MRI to track changes in my condition (something that was performed every 6 months in CT and paid in full by Connecticare Ins.

I have spoken to their consumer advocacy department and still have not been provided with an in-network Neurologist less than an hour away. They tell me I need to go out of state to NY or PA. Once I was told they may have to overide their system and allow me to see a out-of-network doctor, but I have not heard from then since.

I'm told that there are no telephone numbers for their complaint department or higher up managers, and that the corporate office does not have direct lines or contacts.

Local doctors either do not accept BCBS insurance, or if they do, they say they want payments up front and will withhold any difference between the actual cost and the contracted price. What am I paying premiums for???

The sentiment by most physicians I've spoken to is that BCBS pays them LESS than medicare or medicaid. They have not received reimbursments for anywhere up to a year. The only doctors to accept this insurance are those forced to through the professional organization their practice is involved with.

The list of so called in-network doctors that they offer on their site is out dated. Many numbers are disconnected. Others specialize in something other than what BCBS advertises, many other have dropped the plan.

I have never dealt with so much deception with a company before!
