Health & Medicine

I went online to order a Bender Ball after seeing the infomercial. The first time I tried to order the website got hung up and I couldn't go back or refresh so I had to close out of IE completely. I went back online and tried again and it worked. I read things very carefully when I order and read the description of what I was buying before choosing to purchase the product. There was no mention of any automatic shipments of additional DVD's.

After reading another post on here I now realize the information may have changed once I put my payment information in. This is incredibly misleading and I'm certain it is against the law. Two orders were placed on my behalf (assumingly because of the snafu with the first order). I sent an email through the website alerting them to the mistake in an effort to prevent the extra order from shipping. Nobody ever responded to me.

I did receive both orders and called to get instructions on returning the extra one that I did not order. I had noticed the signup for the automatic shipment in very small print at the bottom of my packing list so I also asked that it be cancelled when I called. I was given an RMA number and an address to send the box to. When I asked about the return shipping cost, they told me to pay for it and they would include it in my reimbursement when they received it back. Yeah right - heard that one before. I asked if I could just write the RMA number on the box and put it back in a UPS box and they told me that was another option. My main reason for doing it this way is that it is not possible to ship something to a PO box in a completely trackable way.

To date, they have still not received the package back, or so they say. I have just had a charge come through on my account for the automatic shipment even though a) I have received no merchandise and b) have now called 3 times to cancel it and have been assured that it has been cancelled.

I have disputed the charges through my bank so we'll see what happens. Finally, I received a call from some company saying that I had recently ordered through one of their partners and was considered a "preferred customer" and was entitled to receive some discount membership (for a monthly fee) and a free gas card, blah, blah, blah. The scary part to me was that the person on the phone had the last 4 digits of my card that I used to place my order with Bender Ball.

Not good business practices and they do not stick to their word. If I don't get resolution I will certainly seek other avenues to prevent being ripped off any further from them.
