@ HIghland Villiage Aka Eyemasters #49 Promised hours and benifits, did not recieve

I was hired recently at the aforementioned Eyemasters. They said they would hire me on full time with 40 hour work weeks and full benefits. After my pathetic one week of training my hours were reduced to part time.

During the interview I was promised around $10 an hour plus commission. When hired I was hired on at only $7.50, but they said after commission it would be about $10 so I agreed. What they did not tell me was that I had to be promoted and the store had to pick up business before we would even be considered for commission.

I was also hired on the premise that I would be working full 8 hour days, 40 hours a week. After my first week of training they dropped my hours down to only 27 per week. The scheduling is also a nightmare, I have no idea what my work week is going to be like until the last hour of the day before the new week starts. My hours are erratic, during the course of the week it's not uncommon for me to work 10 - 2 one day, 3 -7 the next, 11 - 4 the day after, etc.

The manager of the place is an utter moron. She acts like a 14 year old little girl snickering at people behind their backs and constantly saying "Y'know?" On Saturdays we have meetings in the morning starting at 9 AM. I have attended every one I was told to and arrived promptly at 9, only to find the manager waltzing in at 9:45 every time thinking she can make it up to us by buying stale donuts. Honestly the place would run smoother and things would cheer up a bit if she just didn't show up.

As far as the upcoming Thanksgiving holiday is concerned she scheduled everyone to work the entire week except for the DAY OF Thanksgiving. But did she schedule herself? Oh no. She gave herself a cool 4 days off, perks of being a manager right?

Our lab had to remake the same pair of glasses 4 times... 4 times... Because of her incompetence by screwing up the work order.

I'm on the verge of quitting, just walking out the door and never looking back.

People don't quit jobs, they quit bosses.
