Unscrupulous, dishonest sales, unethical Ripoff

I purchased this so called "health insurance" from a NASE representativefour years ago. I specified that I was looking for a major medical type insurance, just in case of a catastrophic event. He assured me he was signing me up for just what I needed. I signed the papers, and never used the insurance.

Last January, my husband was in a terrible accident. When the finance lady at the hospital told me our insurance policy was pretty much worthless, I felt the blood draining from my head. The hospital would be treating him as "cash" patient. If you know about hospital billing, the uninsured get charged about 3 or times what a patient with good insurance is charged.

We are left owing about $72,000 from a total of $100,000. Even after carefully reading my policy, which I should have read before I ever paid them a dime, I don't understand why they can get away with this. They applied our $3000 deductible to the hospital portion of the bill, where they had already paid their maximums. (We are hoping to negotiate this down, and want the deductible applied here.) We are left with surgeon's fees, which they should have paid, bills for xrays and cat scans, where they should have paid a portion, the list goes on and on.

I hope by filing this report, that anyone reading this will know to not waste their money on this worthless insurance. I paid them more in premiums than they paid out in claims.
